When Miley Cyrus began sharing cryptic posters promoting new music all over the world, she captured the attention of both her old fans and new listeners.
She began the year 2023 with the release of "Flowers," the very first single off her brand new album "Endless Summer Vacation," her first release in three years since 2020's "Plastic Hearts."
This not only closed one chapter of the singer's life, it also opened a new one and led to her newest milestone as she was named Billboard's Comeback Artist of the Year.
Miley Cyrus Releases 'Flowers'
On Jan. 13, Cyrus dropped her chart-topping hit "Flowers," which gagged the fans, who noted that the singer released a song about moving on from an ex on the same day her ex-husband, Liam Hemsworth, is celebrating his birthday.
According to Billboard, the "Hannah Montana" star has one No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 hits, two Top 10 Billboard Hot 100 hits, three Top 40 Billboard Hot 100 hits, and five No. 1 hits on the radio, as well as 2.1 billion official streams with 1.9 mullion album units sold.
Cyrus' music career shot back up with the release of her singles "Flowers" and "Used to be Young," and of course, her album "Endless Summer Vacation," as she was nominated for six Grammy Awards for next year's ceremony.
Miley Cyrus Receives Renewed Interest, New Fans
According to reports, several people reflected on the "Wrecking Ball" singer's single and noted how well she captured being single and female empowerment.
"I really enjoyed the Miley Cyrus song 'Flowers' because I like the insight," a student told the Guilfordian, a publication from Guilford College.
"She proves that she doesn't have to rely on a man to love herself. Good for her that she is moving past it and getting inspiration from this breakup, and putting it into her song and putting it towards her career."
On top of that, there has been renewed interest in Cyrus' older releases, thanks to an Olivia Rodrigo song that sounds similar.
As per Forbes Magazine, Rodrigo's "All-American B***h" sounds a lot like Cyrus' "Start All Over."
While neither artist has said anything about the similarities of the two songs, many fans think so and start listening to Cyrus' song again.
