Apart from her very distinctive voice, Sia is known for her iconic hair. The rather elusive vocalist has been shy about showing her actual face to the world, which is why she makes it a point to obscure her face when singing with her huge wigs or hairpieces.
But from time to time, Sia has shown her face and even sported some body-hugging clothing.
Now, the "Chandelier" singer has revealed that in the past few years, she had undergone plastic surgery.
Sia Plastic Surgery Confirmed
In a post on Twitter/X, Sia revealed that she had to take a medication that made her put on a lot of weight, resulting in not being able to just shift with exercise or thyroid medications.
As a result, she underwent liposuction - but Sia seemed to not be proud of the change.
"Please know that I am so lucky to have the resources to change the way I look and that when you see me looking crazy foxy again that I want you to know it did not come from diet and exercise," she clarified.
According to the singer, she wanted to be "truthful" about the procedures she go through so she does not "contribute to the system that tells" people that they aren't enough.
"I am insecure like most people and being in the public eye gives me anxiety, so I've made the choice to alter my appearance for my own confidence issues. Pray for me please! I love you, keep going!" she concluded her statement.
In the past, Sia, as told by People Magazine, had already disclosed that she had undergone liposuction.
"I've had liposuction twice on my chin thinking I had a double chin and it turned out to be muscles that I use to sing," she confessed. "I was so insecure. I did that to myself because I was so insecure and finally, I'm stopping doing any of that."
Sia Facial Plastic Surgery
In October 2023, Sia also revealed that she had plastic surgery on her face, although she did not specify when she had it.
"I'm a pop star that normally hides my face and doesn't lie about s---. I got an amazing face lift from Dr. Talei. He is incredible. And he is doing so much good work - and not just for the pop stars of the world."
