Earlier this month, Mariah Carey surprised her fans when she brought her collaborators, Jennifer Hudson and Ariana Grande, on stage at her Madison Square Garden concert.

More recently, Hudson shared her insights about the reunion on her TV show "The Jennifer Hudson Show," saying it felt like being with family.

The Academy Award winner recalled the sweet moment, saying the holiday season is full of surprises and Mariah Carey loves coming up with "big great ideas."

She later noted that it was the Queen of Christmas herself who came up with the reunion for their surprise and first performance of "Oh Santa" in New York.

It appears that the performance was kept under wraps before the actual night of the show as Hudson said "nobody knew" they were coming.

She then noted that the show was fun and, "it was like a reunion for all of us... It felt like being with family. It felt like Christmas!"

Even though the performance was only for one night and it happened days ago, Hudson said she still receives tags on Instagram.

"The crowd, when I say they went crazy - I'm still getting tags on Instagram from that performance," she added.

Both Hudson and Grande received a very special gift from Carey, pearl necklaces, which the actress showed off on her show.

According to Billboard, this was the first time in three years the trio gathered together as the last time they saw each other was during the filming of the "Oh Santa" music video in 2020.

"Oh Santa!" featuring Grande and Hudson was a remix version of Carey's original solo song from her album "Merry Christmas II You" in 2010.

In other updates, Carey appeared on Hudson's talk show last month where they discussed all things Christmas, including her favorite holiday song which is surprisingly not "All I Want For Christmas."

"I have to say, my favorite all-time Christmas song is Nat King Cole's version of '[The] Christmas Song.' That's my favorite," she declared.
