Megan Thee Stallion refuses to slow down. The Houston, Texas native will now be in business with a new record label.
According to Billboard, the Traumazine rapper has joined forces with Warner Music Group, who will distribute her music. But Megan will maintain ownership of all of her music. Also, such an ownership will be placed on the employees from 300 Entertainment along with some from WMG.
Shortly after the release of her latest single, "Cobra," Megan hopped on Instagram Live to share with fans that her next album is self-funded. This came after settling legal differences with her former label, 1501 Certified Entertainment.
"I have no label right now and we're doing everything funded straight out of Megan Thee Stallion's pocket," she said. "The next s** y'all about to see about to be all straight from Megan Thee Stallion-Megan Thee Stallion brain, Megan Thee Stallion wallet."
She continued: "I'm so excited to be doing something for the first time independent since [before] it was just me and my mama. It's really just me this go-round until we sign to a new label. I don't wanna sign to a new label right now because...I just wanna do it myself."
Megan was tangled in a prolonged legal battle with 1501 after the rapper filed a lawsuit claiming that 1501 was blocking her from releasing music.
