Ricardo Drue, a musician who was renowned for his Soca style, has died at the age of 38, multiple news outlets confirmed.
On Tuesday, December 12, Drue's official Instagram page issued a statement confirming the musician's death. The message called the late soca singer a "brother and friend" who was truly loved worldwide.

The statement did not disclose Drue's cause of death, but his family expressed their gratitude as they felt consoled by everyone's love and support after the loss.
"His sudden passing has left us all shattered and as such, we are asking for privacy as we make sense of this devastating loss," they went on.
A second post was shared on the official Instagram account in which the family called out the users who circulated "disrespectful" post about Drue and his loved ones. The post in question featured a photo and voice note of the musician.
Drue's fans and colleagues also called out internet users who spread the post, with some noting that it was discourteous to take a photo of the singer after his death.
One said, "Nah nah.. what is that post on Ricardo Drue's page about people sending around a photo and a voice note?? Are y'all really that f** disgusting you're circulating something like that on the day of his damn death??? Y'all are sick."
"Doctors, nurses and those IG pages have no respect for people's privacy or their family," another wrote. "Why is there a picture of Ricardo Drue lying dead in the hospital bed ?!? Something wrong with allyuh yes."
A third added, "So I'm scrolling on Tik Tok and boom. A pic of Ricardo Drue lying in a hospital bed is on my fyp. You've got to be kidding me...."
Caribbean media outlets shared further details about Drue's death, including the report about him being found unresponsive on Tuesday and being rushed to a hospital in St. John afterward.
A few hours later, his fiancé and fellow soca singer, Patrice Roberts, uploaded an Instagram video to share a glimpse of Drue's status.
"I do anything to hear your voice ... wake up," Roberts wrote.
The pair announced their engagement in 2022.
Drue's family has yet to share the details of his funeral or memorial.
