As fans, many want to know what inspires their favorite artists to write their heart-wrenching ballads and heart-pumping anthems - whether it is heartbreak, an unforgettable experience, or a mundane routine - they want to know it all.

Aside from what inspired them, some fans also go to lengths in decoding who the song is about. Throughout the decades, songs that sing about a certain person have sparked curiosity among fans. Olivia Rodrigo's songs are no exception.

However, she says she won't be naming anyone on whom her songs are about, maybe ever.

Olivia Rodrigo Not Naming Who Her Songs Are About

Speaking to The Los Angeles Times, Olivia Rodrigo doubles down on that she would not be naming anyone on who her songs are about.

"I just think it's not classy to come out and say it's about this person. I also think that would set a weird precedent where I'd have to clear the air with every song I write," she told the publication.

Ever since Rodrigo released "Driver's License," she was hounded by questions asking who that "boy" was and who that "blonde girl" who made her feel insecure. Many say it was her ex-boyfriend, ex-co-star Joshua Bassett, and Sabrina Carpenter, but to date, we haven't had a confirmation.

When she released "Vampire" earlier this year, many thought that Rodrigo is referring to Taylor Swift as the "bloodsucker" and "famef*cker" - alluding to their alleged beef. Olivia Rodrigo's sexuality was even in question when she released "Lacy" as the ballad seemed to talk about Rodrigo's feelings for a beautiful woman.

In the past, Rodrigo has expressed that she doesn't want to name who her songs are about.

When asked by The Guardian about it, she had this to say when asked if her song "Vampire" was actually about Swift or if "Lacy" was about Sabrina Carpenter.

"I mean, I never want to say who any of my songs are about. I've never done that before in my career and probably won't. I think it's better to not pigeonhole a song to being about this one thing. I was very surprised when people thought that."
