Taylor Swift has scored a point against haters who accuse her of not having a personality. Ed Sheeran, Swift's touring partner and constant dating rumor, posted a picture to Instagram displaying a jar of jelly that the country star gifted him, as well as the zinger of a note attached.
"Yo Ed," the note begins. "Im really happy 4 you and I'm gonna let u finish but this is the best JAM OF ALL TIME. -T."
The note is, of course, a reference to Kanye West's stealing of the microphone from Swift at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. Swift was accepting the award for Best Female Video for "You Belong With Me." The rapper was passionately put-off by Beyonce's "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)" being snubbed, and he famously took the mic and delivered a line similar to the one above (Beyonce was redeemed when she won Video of The Year for both genders). Unfortunately, he did not refer to "Single Ladies" as a jam, but that would've made this amazing.
The attitudes of both artists involved regarding the incident have changed dramatically in the following four years. West was publicly shamed by many, including Oprah Winfrey, and he apologized multiple times. Swift seemed much more hurt at the time. Now, West has reneged on his apologies and Swift has found humor in the incident. She referenced it when acknowledging her nominations for this year's VMA's.
"Two VMA nominations!! If you vote and get us one, I promise to keep a firmer grip on the mic this time ;)," she tweeted.
West will be performing at the event on Sunday, tying him with Madonna for most VMA performances with seven.
