Former Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant took part in a Facebook chat with fans earlier today (Sept. 9) and revealed that he would like to work with guitar hero Jack White.
According to Rolling Stone, a fan asked Plant if he would ever consider recording anything with White at the musician's Third Man Records, and the singer was all for it. "I love Jack White's buccaneer spirit, and the way he dodges through the musical horizons," Plant wrote. "I'd be happy to make a single with him."
Apparently, Plant has been thinking about the collaboration for some time, stating that he already had a song in mind for the pair and that he would be in Nashville, where Third Man Records resides, this weekend. "I'd like to do a track called 'Love Me' which was originally recorded by The Phantom," Plant wrote. "In fact, I'm going to Nashville on Sunday and can do it on Monday morning! I've got lunch with Alison Krauss at 2pm and cocktails with Patty Griffin at 8pm."
While squeezing in the short song might not be too difficult for Plant, White, who is currently in the middle of a lengthy tour, won't be too close to Nashville. According to the artist's website, White will be performing in Maryland on Sunday, Sept.14 and Ohio the following night.
Both artists currently have new albums out. Plant released his 10th solo album Lullaby and...The Ceaseless River on Monday (Sept. 8) and White's second solo effort, Lazaretto, has been doing quite well since its June release.
