Cher celebrated the success of her holiday single, "DJ Play a Christmas Song," reaching the pinnacle of Billboard's Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales chart during an appearance on "The Kelly Clarkson Show." The iconic artist proudly declared herself the only solo artist to achieve No. 1 hits in seven decades, a remarkable accomplishment matched only by the Rolling Stones in the music industry.

In her characteristic witty style, Cher playfully joked, "It took four of them to be one of me," emphasizing her unique standing in the realm of musical achievements. However, she took a more serious tone when addressing her absence from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, asserting that she would not change her stance, even if offered a million dollars. The singer's candid revelation prompted gasps from both Clarkson and the studio audience.

Cher has been actively promoting her latest Christmas album, aptly titled "Christmas," which was released in late October. The album marks Cher's return to original material after a decade-long hiatus. She showcased her festive spirit with performances at notable events such as the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree lighting.

During her appearance on "The Kelly Clarkson Show," Cher drew attention to her influence on the music industry, particularly with her groundbreaking 1998 single, "Believe," which pioneered the use of auto-tune technology in pop music. Despite her significant impact, Cher expressed disappointment in being excluded from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The 2023 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony, which occurred in November, honored inductees such as Kate Bush, Sheryl Crow, Missy Elliot, Willie Nelson, George Michael, Rage Against the Machine, and the Spinners. The 2022 class included Dolly Parton, Duran Duran, Pat Benatar, Eminem, Lionel Richie, Eurythmics, and Carly Simon. Parton initially declined her nomination, stating she didn't feel worthy, but ultimately accepted and even released a rock album, "Rockstar," which debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 album charts earlier in the year. Cher's revelations and humor on "The Kelly Clarkson Show" added another memorable chapter to her iconic career.
