According to Cameron Diaz, having separate bedrooms and houses for married couples should become "normal."
The 51-year-old revealed the information on Tuesday when appearing on Molly Sims and Emese Gormley's podcast, "Lipstick on the Rim."
She is married to Good Charlotte guitarist Benji Madden since 2015.
"To me, I would literally, I have my house, you have yours," she said. "We have the family house in the middle. I will go and sleep in my room. You go sleep in your room. I'm fine."
"And we have the bedroom in the middle that we can convene in for our relations," "The Holiday" actress added.
The hosts of the program found the hot take amusing and suggested that Diaz definitely shouldn't have made her unconventional viewpoint public.
"I've already said it," Diaz responded. "By the way, I don't feel that way now because my husband is so wonderful. I said that before I got married."
Raddix, the couple's kid, was welcomed by Diaz and Madden in January 2020.
The actress from "What Happens in Vegas" has not made much of an appearance since quitting acting a few years ago, but she has frequently complimented her husband in public.
In May 2016, Diaz told Harper's Bazaar that getting married was the biggest thing she has done in her 40s, and it opened her up in different ways. She said she would not do it for any other man than this guitarist.
"Everything else just washes and slips away," she told Andy Cohen on his SiriusXM show that year. "You realize, 'Oh, right, this is what the real thing is. This is what real love is. This is what real commitment and devotion is. This is the person you build your life with.' ... And I know that this is special."
Benji Madden feels Cameron Diaz is very special too.
Madden even took to Instagram to talk about how he feels married to his famous wife back in 2018.
"So many things that make me so proud of you and how special you are. Thank you for being the best friend and partner to me and taking this journey of marriage," he wrote at the time.
"The way you live your life everyday, and your compassion for the world shines thru [sic] in your eyes and you inspire me to want to be the best man I can be in this lifetime. You're the realest. I'm so grateful to be yours Always&Forever, and to call you my One&Only. True Love."
