Fans were happy for Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck after they reunited and rekindled their romance after decades of being separated from one another, but it was revealed by the singer that both of them were traumatized back when they first got together; what happened?

The musician recently sat down in an interview with Variety to promote her new album "This Is Me... Now" and its accompanying movie.

She explained that the film will also tackle her personal relationship with the actor and sharing their story for the world to see.

Lopez noted that being public with her romance with Affleck makes her nervous, but regardless, things have changed in the present and both of them are "older now." (via Page Six)

Jennifer Lopez, Ben Affleck Both Have 'PTSD' From Their First Relationship

Things were different back then as Lopez explained that she and her husband "both have PTSD" during their first relationship.

The main reason why they were traumatized before was because of the media scrutiny that they faced.

However, she revealed that both of them have nothing to worry about these days because they know what's important in life.

"We're wiser. We also know what's important, what's really important in life, and it's not so much what other people think. It's about being true to who you are," she said.

JLo and Affleck first dated in the early 2000s and they were one of Hollywood's most admire couples. Labeled as "Bennifer," the two went on to have a relationship and even got engaged, but the wedding did not push through.

The pair went on separate ways and had separate relationships with other people, only for them to reunite in 2021. They finally tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Las Vegas in 2022.

What to Expect on Jennifer Lopez's New Movie

Elsewhere in the interview, Lopez was asked if the movie is scripted or it will be like a documentary where she could say whatever she wants when the cameras are rolling.

The musician didn't want to give too much away about the film as she said, "You have to see it and you'll have to experience it to understand it. That's why I call it a 'musical experience.' Because there's music, you can see it, you can hear it and then you'll get to live it."

The movie will be available for streaming via Prime Video starting on February 16, 2023.
