2023 was indeed a great year for rock music as some of the biggest musical acts from the genre held their massive tours, while some returned to the music industry after a long time.
Check out below some of the biggest musicians in the field of rock music who had successful series of concerts.
Bruce Springsteen
It's been six years since Bruce Springsteen went on tour with his E Street Band, and he proved that everything was worth the wait.
Since he was considered to be a legend in the music industry, it's no doubt that ticket prices will skyrocket, and that was exactly what happened to the point that ticket prices soared up to thousands of dollars.
Springsteen defended the expensive ticket prices as he spoke in an interview with Rolling Stone, stating, What I do is a very simple thing. I tell my guys, 'Go out and see what everybody else is doing. Let's charge a little less.' That's generally the directions." (via Ultimate Classic Rock)
Although the musician was able to perform and fans were entertained by it, he had to postpone his fall leg as he needed to recover from peptic ulcer disease.
Depeche Mode
Depeche Mode made a big comeback in the United States in March 2023 and it took them five years to hold concerts again in America.
Although fans were happy to see them again as they released new music and performed new tracks to their delight, it was a mixture of happiness and sadness as they still mourned the death of Andy Fletcher.
It was their first tour ever without their beloved bandmate as he passed away last year. The remaining two members did their best to honor their good pal as his images were shown in the LED screens.
Dead & Company
It was an amazing year for Dead & Company this 2023 as they went on tour, but it was also a bittersweet moment for the band as they bid farewell to their fans.
They ended their farewell tour in July 2023 at Oracle Park in San Francisco, California.
Regardless, there are still rumors that the band might return on the big stage in 2024 as they are reportedly in talks to perform at the Sphere in Las Vegas for a residency.
U2
Speaking of the Sphere in Las Vegas, U2 became the first-ever musical act to perform at the ultra-modern venue, which reportedly cost over $2 billion to build.
When the band kicked off their first show in September, the world was shocked and left in awe because of the breathtaking visuals that the band delivered.
Aside from their hit songs, people were also entertained by the animation that almost took over the venue because of its massive spherical LED screen.
Fortunately, the band's residency will extend this 2024. You may check out more details here.
