Timothée Chalamet Listened To Unreleased Bob Dylan Songs
Speaking to Happy Sad Confused, Chalmet revealed that he got a chance to listen to unreleased songs from Bob Dylan.
Bob Dylan's manager Jeff Rosen sent him a 12-hour playlist of unreleased songs from the music giant. The said songs were recorded between 1959 and 1964, which many avid fans of Dylan would very much like to see and listen to.
Rosen will also serve as a producer for the upcoming Bob Dylan biopic, "A Complete Unknown."
"This might earn the ire and wrath of a lot of Bob fans, rightfully," Chalamet said. "But he sent me like a 12-hour playlist of unreleased Bob stuff from like 1959 to '64. I feel like I'm holding onto gold or something."
However, a bunch of the songs from the said playlist are already available to fans through bootlegs like "The Minnesota Tapes."
Chalamet was cast as Bob Dylan in the biopic alongside Benedict Cumberbatch as American folk singer Pete Seeger, Monica Barbaro as acclaimed singer-songwriter Joan Baez, and Elle Fanning in a yet-to-be-announced role.
James Mangold will be directing the Bob Dylan biopic, "A Complete Unknown," and it will begin production in August of 2024.
Timothée Chalamet Singing in Bob Dylan Biopic
In an interview, director James Mangold confirmed that Timothée Chalamet will, "of course," be singing in the upcoming Bob Dylan biopic.
"It's such an amazing time in American culture," he said about the upcoming films. "The story of a young, 19-year-old Bob Dylan coming to New York with like two dollars in his pocket and becoming a worldwide sensation within three years - first being embraced into the family of folk music in New York and then, of course, kind of outrunning them at a certain point as his star rises so beyond belief. It's such an interesting true story and about such an interesting moment in the American scene."
Chalamet previously earned praise from critics and fans after his outstanding portrayal of Willy Wonka in "Wonka."
