Streaming service platforms are a necessity for many people nowadays. As music becomes a part of everyone's lives, people tend to weigh in on debates about which one is better.
Spotify and Apple Music are the two leading music streaming platforms in the world right now, and Megan Thee Stallion seems to have picked which side she is on in the longstanding debate.
Megan Thee Stallion Shades Spotify
While on Instagram on Christmas Eve, Megan Thee Stallion pointed out that her least favorite streaming platform is Spotify.
According to Uproxx, Megan Thee Stallion then turned her disdain for the platform to its users.
When someone off-camera asked Megan about it she said: "B*tch, Spotify?... I feel like if you're 15, you have Spotify."
While the shade seemed to be harmless, it sparked a debate on social media, with Spotify users, and Meg's fans turning against her.
Megan Thee Stallion Launches Spotify, Apple Music Debate
"girl spotify is much better than Apple Music other than the music quality," one user said.
"Spotify literally has artists that have great music that aren't on iTunes. The playlists you can compile on Spotify are better than ITunes," another commented.
"People who don't use Spotify are broke because they keep buying the same iPhone every year," someone said.
Meanwhile, Apple Music users defended their platform of choice.
"she spoke nothing but the truth...apple music is superior!" someone posted.
"Spotify is so irrelevant like I already have a music app on my phone... why am I gonna go download a whole ass other app," a fan said.
Megan Thee Stallion Gets Dragged For Poor Streaming Power
However, not everyone was kind to Megan Thee Stallion's statement. A handful of users dragged her hate for Spotify because of her low streaming power.
"She saying that because her new song didn't debut on global? Spotify is the biggest platform btw," a user said.
"She's in no position to be shading ANY streaming service considering nobody is streaming her music. Regardless of age, regardless of the platform," someone pointed out.
"When your streaming numbers in the gutter as an artist of course u will think this," another suggested.
"For someone that doesn't get streams on both Spotify and Apple Music, she sure runs her mouth a lot," a user tweeted.
