Trisha Paytas just revealed that she and The Weeknd have a collaboration coming up real soon, but netizens do not believe her.
According to Pop Crave, during her appearance on the "Cancelled" podcast, the YouTube personality shared that she and the "Blinding Lights" singer are working on something that will be released very soon.
"Does The Weeknd know this?" A netizen reacted to the announcement.
"I think she means the Weekday," another added.
"She better be lying."
"Why would he collab with a failed singer she can't be [for real]."
The collaboration comes shortly after Paytas shared that The Weeknd slid into her Instagram DMs (direct messages).
Trish Paytas Fangirls Over The Weeknd
During her interview with People Magazine, Paytas revealed that her fangirling over the "After Hours" singer made him notice her.
"Literally yesterday, The Weeknd 'liked' the Zach Sang clip on Instagram publicly and sent me a DM saying, 'Thanks for the support, me and my team appreciate it,'" she said.
"I was like, 'Me and my team? Does that mean it's Abel DMing me?' That is wild to me. I still can't get over it."
Elsewhere in her interview, Paytas claims that she "think about stuff constantly," which is how she "manifested" her interaction with The Weeknd--which probably resulted in the collab she talked about.
"I really do think that's manifesting it because it's speaking it out loud."
Who is Trisha Paytas?
Paytas gained recognition on YouTube by regularly posting vlogs, music videos, and mukbangs (eating videos) on her channel.
She released her debut album "Under the Covers" in August 2015, followed by several Extended Plays like "Showtime," "Warrior," "Chicken Fingers and Lipo," "Chicken Parm and Heartbreak," "Songs from My Kitchne Floor," and "Rebirth."
Her most popular release is "I Love You Jesus," which has somewhat become a meme on social media.
Meanwhile, The Weeknd, born Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, is a Canadian singer-songwriter and producer. He is one of the most streamed artists on Spotify; he was recently dethroned by Taylor Swift.
His popular releases include "Starboy," "Earned It," "Call Out My Name," "Save Your Tears," "Love Me Harder" with Ariana Grande, and "Take My Breath Away."
While netizens hold The Weeknd in high regard, they do not care much for Paytas, hence the clowning online.
"'I Love You Jesus' Remix with The Weeknd," one wrote.
"It's not a music collab," another added. "Calm down, people."
