Taraji P. Henson is making her voice heard in Hollywood as she talks about pay disparity and even giving up on acting because of it. Henson recently revealed that after her iconic portrayal of Cookie Lyon on Fox's "Empire," she had to fire her whole team for not securing her stability.

50 Cent has heard of this and is openly recruiting Taraji P. Henson in his own film and television production units, specifically on his show "Power," the rival of "Empire" then.

Taraji P Henson Talks About Pay Disparity, Firing Her Team

Speaking to SiriusXM for the press tour of "The Color Purple," Taraji P. Henson sparked important conversation in Hollywood chambers when she talked about pay disparity.

"I'm just tired of working so hard being gracious at what I do and getting paid a fraction of the cost. I'm tired of hearing my sisters say the same thing over and over," she began. "I hear people go, 'You work alot.' I have to. The math ain't mathing. When you start working you have a team and big bills come with what you do," she said in the conversation, getting choked up in tears.

Henson even suggested quitting acting just to stay afloat. She explained that when someone earns $10 million from a project, that does not go into her pocket immediately. Off the bat, "Uncle Sam is getting 50 percent," which leaves her with $5 million, with her team cutting the 30% from the whole sum, leaving her with less.

"Now, do the math. It seems whenever I break a glass ceiling and it's time to renegotiate I'm at the bottom again," she pointed out.

This was not the only revelation that Henson had revealed in the past concerning her business and management.

In fact, she had to fire her own team after they failed to manage her after "Empire." (via Deadline)

"Firing everybody after Cookie," Henson said when asked what she had done after "Empire." "Everybody had to f-kin' go. Where is my deal? Where's my commercial? Cookie was at the top of the fashion game. Where is my endorsement? What did you have set up for after this? That's why you all haven't seen me in so long. They had nothing set up."
