Ozzy Osbourne responded to a death hoax that falsely claimed he had died.
Over the past few years, Osbourne has dealt with different health issues that have kept him away from performing live. Although he constantly keeps in touch with everyone regardless of his condition, he still sparks rumors from time to time.
Ozzy Osbourne Debunks Death Report
On the latest episode of "The Osbournes" podcast for the show's New Year's Eve Special, Osbourne reiterated that he is very much alive despite the death hoaxes' claims.
"I'm not dead," he said. "I'm not going any-f-------where. And I'm gonna go up and do some more gigs before I'm finished anyway."
Osbourne revealed that he needed to clarify things after spotting a video online suggesting he had passed away. According to the Black Sabbath rocker, he saw a clip on YouTube that had the text "Celebrities Who Have Died Today" which had a photo of himself.
However, the content was reportedly phrased strategically to avoid a potential lawsuit, leading him to call out the "sick f------"
On the other hand, his son, Jack Osbourne, also responded to the death hoax.
"We'll do the Viking burial," he quipped. "I'll shoot a flaming arrow on your raft."
Ozzy suffered from another death hoax when MediaMass shared a post on the "R.I.P. Ozzy Osbourne" Facebook page a day after his surgery in 2022.
It wrote, "At about 11 a.m. ET on Tuesday (June 14, 2022), our beloved singer Ozzy Osbourne passed away. Ozzy Osbourne was born on December 3, 1948 in Birmingham. He will be missed but not forgotten. Please show your sympathy and condolences by commenting on and liking this page."
His representatives immediately dismissed the claims and clarified that the rocker was still alive and well.
Another death hoax happened in 2020, with MetalCastle explaining that similar news surfaced prior to that.
Ozzy Osbourne Calls Out People Who Spread Fake News
Previously, Osbourne told his listeners on SiriusXM's Ozzy Speaks that he was not dying.
"This f------ press drive you nuts. I mean, I looked in the magazine, 'Ozzy's on his last legs.' I'm f------ not dying," he said. "Come on, guys. Haven't I've had it bad enough already? If I get OK today, if the doctor said to me today, 'Oh, you can tour,' it would take another six months to get it together, you know?"
