Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani had an amazing Christmas celebration with their family because aside from their home being decorated with extravagant decorations, their dinner was also spectacular as it featured one special dish that became a part of their annual tradition.
According to Taste of Country, the couple served homemade stuffed pasta shells as well as a gingerbread house, but the main star of the evening was the Italian timpano pasta dome that they always cook whenever the holiday season comes around.
The outlet noted that the story of why they serve this special dish every year began when they were still dating. Initially, the couple began cooking complicated menu items back then and they loved the food so much that they decided to add it to their annual feast.
Earlier this month, Stefani spoke with Entertainment Tonight to give details about the special food, explaining that "It's basically like a lasagna, but in a dome form, either in a bread or in a pasta."
However, she admitted that their version might not be as authentic as the one in Italy.
"Probably some Italians might get mad about this, because typically it would be a pasta wrapped around it, but we started to do it with pizza dough because it tastes yummy," she added.
Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani's Slight Mistake During the Holidays
Although it was a happy celebration, there was a little mistake that they made during the holidays as the special dish didn't come out as they wanted it to be.
Unfortunately, Stefani slightly burned the bottom of the pasta dome as she let it brown a little longer than usual.
In a video shared on social media, the musician said, "Everything was going right until I put it back in [the oven]," then Shelton jokingly shook his head.
Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani Will Celebrate New Year's Eve Separately
The couple enjoyed Christmas with their family, but it would be a different case this coming New Year's Eve as Stefani confirmed that she and Shelton will welcome 2024 miles apart.
In early reports, Blake Shelton is part of the lineup of "Nashville's Big Bash" with other musicians like Lainey Wilson, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Trace Adkins, and many more.
On the other hand, his wife will be in Las Vegas for a different event.
Initially, they had different plans, but it all changed when Vegas called her, as she told Access Hollywood, "Well, it's funny because I was going to be at his show, and then Vegas called and wanted me to be in Vegas."
