The Blue Ridge Rock Festival concluded a few months ago, but it's only today that the organizers decided to address the horrendous incident as the event was "partially canceled" due to bad weather; check out what the management has to say below.
According to Loudwire, the massive music event was initially scheduled to run from September 7 to 10, 2023, in Alton, Virginia.
However, the first night was disastrous as concertgoers had to be evacuated due to a severe storm that destroyed the venue.
Unfortunately, some attendees weren't able to leave the premises immediately because vehicles were short and not everyone left the property to seek shelter.
Although the event was business as usual the following day, there were still people who complained because of the aftermath of the storm.
Blue Ridge Rock Festival 2023 Organizers Speaks Out
Organizers for the event has finally decided to issue a statement about the matter four months after the event took place.
As reported by WSET, people behind Blue Ridge Rock Festival first expressed their apologies for the "delay in providing a clear resolution" for the cancellation.
They are aware that fans were frustrated about the incident and they know attendees needed more communication from their end. However, they were "not been permitted" to do it in the past.
"Our event had the benefit of festival interruption and abandonment insurance. Receiving coverage for a claim of this magnitude takes a considerable amount of time," they explained.
They added that the firms representing the event are expecting a response from insurance companies in the first quarter of 2024, and once they had a concrete answere on how to provide resolutions to those who attended, they will give further updates.
Why It Took Blue Ridge Rock Festival Organizers a Long Time to Address the Issue
Organizers further explained that the main reason why they remained silent for the past couple of months was because of the ongoing settlement with the claim.
"This is the reason we have largely been silent. It has been incredibly difficult to not publicize evidence to refute many of the reports surrounding the Festival," they added.
Regardless, they took the chance to thank everyone for their patience and they understand the public uproar about the issue.
