Dua Lipa was set to have another campaign for new music with a music video, but decided to scrap the entire thing altogether because of the conflict in Gaza.
"A video was shot for Dua Lipa's forthcoming campaign last September," a source told The Sun.
There is no information on whether the music video was supposed to be for "Houdini," her most recently released single from her upcoming album.
"At its heart the video was playful but contained themes of chaos-including car crashes, demolition, explosions, fireworks and crowds fighting," they added.
As per the source, the "Dance the Night" singer and her team decided not to release the music altogether when the conflict in Gaza, between Israel and Hamas, came to a head.
"Dua and her team decided that it would be insensitive for the video to come out given what has happened on and since October 7."
Dua Lipa Calls For Ceasefire in Israel-Hamas War
According to the AFP, Lipa has been very vocal about her support of Palestinian human rights and even received backlash for it several times before.
The singer took to Instagram to express her dismay and frustration towards the war, describing it as "blatant misrepresentations of who I am and what I stand for. I stand in solidarity with all oppressed people and reject all forms of racism."
In a different post, the "Love Again" singer wrote, "With each passing day, my heart aches for the people of Israel and Palestine.
"Grief for the lives lost in the horrifying attacks in Israel. Grief as I witness the unprecedented suffering in Gaza, where 2.2 million souls, half of them children, endure unimaginable hardships."
Fans Laud Dua Lipa For Supporting Palestine
Fans took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to show their support and gratitude towards Lipa and her strong stance in the war.
"I don't want to hear anyone come up with excuses for rich people or brands again, if they wanted to they would," one wrote.
"So this is why 'Houdini' MV, song and promo looked rushed, the way we were robbed from her biggest video of her career, EMA'S performance and many other things. Men are really ending with our world and peace, I get why she did that."
