Nicki Minaj stunned fans and music lovers when she announced that she would no longer be performing her 2012 hit song "Starships."
According to reports, the rapper began singing a few lines of the song when she suddenly signaled the backing track to stop, "Hold on!"
"I don't perform that song no more, y'all. I don't like it, what y'all want me to do? Stupid song," she said before hyping the crowd up again with a different song, "Super Bass."
The audience at the New Year's Eve performance in Miami all expressed their disappointment.
This is not the first time Minaj has expressed her dislike towards the song; in 2020, she revealed a laundry list of songs she regret ever recording and releasing.
Nicki Minaj Hates Her Songs?
During her interview with Pollstar Live, the rapper shares that she has several of her songs that she dislikes and cringes at.
"I hate 'Starships,' I mean ew, 'Starships?'" She said. "I'm like, 'Why did I do that?' I really think that every time I hear it."
Elsewhere in the interview, Minaj went on to name another chart-topping hit that she regrets recording.
"I wish I never recorded 'Anaconda.' I like the video but ugh," she continued. "My first ever solo song on Billboard was 'Your Love.' To this day I like the video but I hate the song. I could go on and on."
