Following a 40-pound weight loss over the years, Christina Aguilera almost looked unrecognizable as she kicked off her Las Vegas residency. While she looked good, some are worried about how much weight she lost.
It seems though that she's fine. More so when she shared that her weight loss is not a health issue; but the outcome of a decision to eat healthier and be fitter.
The 43-year-old singer performed a stunning show as part of her inaugural show for her Las Vegas residency, flaunting her weight loss.
According to Health, she had declared that she "hated being super skinny," but now she embraces and "loves my new curves."
Years of ups and downs have since passed, and she's still 'having a booty' and thin and powerful. Her key has been committing to a vigorous fitness program and a nutritious, balanced diet.
After giving birth to her now-15-year-old son Max in 2008, she faced criticism regarding her weight increase.
She began dieting two years later in preparation for her 2010 picture Burlesque. But in the same year that she went through a divorce from 46-year-old music composer Jordan Bratman, her weight fluctuated once more.

The "Beautiful" hitmaker and her 38-year-old fiancé, Matthew Rutler, have a daughter named Summer, who is nine years old.
She supposedly lost 40 pounds after giving birth to her kid by eating only 1600 calories a day and according to the Rainbow Diet. She follows a plant-based diet plan and eats colorful fruits and vegetables every single day. She told L'Officiel Italia in 2020 that she had now given up on dieting and was instead concentrating on eating healthily.
She mentioned that she tries to eat fewer sweet snacks and more complete meals rather than being restrictive. In addition to maintaining a healthy diet, she enjoys an active lifestyle and a varied exercise regimen to stay in shape.
She works out two to five times a week and apparently enjoys yoga, boxing, strength training, and aerobic workouts, according to In Touch Weekly.
In order to optimize calorie burn and preserve her curves, she has also exercised with celebrity fitness coach Tee Sorge, using both weight lifting and cardio. She worked out "up until she was eight months pregnant and then started back up a few months after [her son] Max was born," her trainer disclosed to Glamour in 2008.
Aguilera told Marie Claire in February 2012 that she was finally content with her body. She claimed to ignore all outside noise and to only be concerned with feeling comfortable in her own flesh. "I've been through my highs, I've been through my lows," she said at the time. She added, "I've been through the gamut of all things in this business. Being too thin. Being bigger. I've been criticized for being on both sides of the scale."
Ultimately, she claimed that her own view is the only one that matters. "It's noise I block out automatically," she added. "I love my body. My boyfriend loves my body. My son is healthy and happy, so that's all that matters to me."
