Fans have been speculating about the truth behind Joe Don Rooney's gender after they alleged that he's transitioning to become a woman, but he finally reacted to the matter to address the issue; what was his response?
Taking to social media, the Rascal Flatts member shared a long message to his supporters for him to address the rumors surrounding his identity.
For the first part of his post, he apologized to his supporters saying he's sorry for being inactive on social media and it even took him years before interacting with friends and fans on different platforms around the internet.
Since it's a brand new year, Rooney said he wanted to start off 2024 fresh and it wanted to get the message across the people who had been curious about his whereabouts.

Later on, he added that he's alive and there had been a lot of rumors and opinions thrown around about him and he's finally ready to address it, especially the one about him transitioning.
"I'm finally healthy and ready for the world. And NO, I'm not transitioning to be a woman. That thought has never entered my mind. Nothing against the trans community whatsoever but I needed to set the record straight," he wrote.
He later gave a background about what happened, saying he almost passed away on September 9, 2021, when he "ran quare into a tree." The reason why he got into an accident was because he was drunk and "far gone with my life."
At the time, he admitted that he was "completely out of control." Later in the post, he revealed that the pressures of his career made him not a good person at home as he was not a "good father," not a "good husband" and not a "good band mate" to his business partners.
Joe Don Rooney Changed His Life
Fortunately, Rooney was able to get himself out of the dark path and changed his life for the better.
"Fortunately, (and I truly believe this,) God lead me into that tree safely enough to not kill me - and luckily nobody else was involved and I didn't injure or kill anyone," he added.
Today, the musician has been sober for 28 months later this January and he never believed he could live his life without drinking because it became a big part of his routine in the past.
"I hope y'all have an amazing 2024. Thank you for all the love, support and prayers. I promise you, I've felt them all and I'm super appreciative," he noted.
