Travis Kelce's status in the game of Chiefs against the Chargers this week and this is sparking rumors whether it is Taylor Swift's fault.

While the world is abuzz with how cute the romance is between Kelce and Swift, the criticism has begun to mount three months also.

More so when the Chiefs have lost five of their previous eight games, and 34-year-old Kelce is going through a difficult time. As a result, Swift is beginning to receive criticism.

"Kelce is not the Kelce he's been for the last 20 years of his career," Craig Carton said on his Fox Sports show on Tuesday. "And I'm not sure if it's because he's distracted by the off-the-field stuff which is very public, or for a guy in his mid-30's, who has talked about 'my body doesn't want to take anymore' that maybe the mind has followed."

Then, Willie Colon, an NFL offensive lineman who is also on the show, added his voice.

"I do think some of the distractions are a factor," Colon said.

A far cry from his typical Hall of Fame-caliber output, Kelce managed just 42 receptions for 443 receiving yards and one score in his final eight games.

Kelce caught 48 passes for 525 yards and four touchdowns in his first six games of the season.

"The Chiefs are not a good football team and Travis Kelce looks like he should retire," Outkick's Clay Travis posted on X. "He's been worthless the last seven or eight weeks. The double worthless Pfizer shots may have caught up with him. Either that or Taylor Swift is the Chiefs Yoko Ono. Maybe both."

While there are reports and players themselves defending Swift and claiming the losses cannot be attributed to her, the talk has not died down.

It's just likely to be louder given the fact that Andy Reid is hinting that Kelce will be sitted out of the upcoming game.

Andy Reid, the head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs, has stated that tight end Travis Kelce may not play this weekend against the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Chiefs, who are guaranteed the third playoff spot in the AFC, play the Chargers in their last regular season game on Sunday. Reid has officially announced that quarterback Patrick Mahomes will not be participating in the game, along with several other starters.

Uncertainty surrounds Kelce's status, as Reid remained evasive about his level of participation on Sunday. The 65-year-old Reid responded, "depends," on the nature of the achievement, when questioned about the players who were on the verge of reaching milestones while playing versus Los Angeles.

Subsequently, a reporter inquired explicitly about Kelce's possibility of recording his ninth consecutive season of 1,000 yards receiving.

Reid remarked, "We'll see how all that goes." Reid continued, saying that talks among players on participating in Week 18 are "one-sided."

That seems to indicate that as the head of the Chiefs, Reid gets what he wants.

But No, it's not about Travis Kelce's famous relationship with Taylor Swift at all. Important players sitting during the last week of the regular season has becoming more typical in the NFL, especially for teams whose postseason destiny has already been decided.

This weekend, the Baltimore Ravens, who have the No. 1 seed in the AFC, will bench MVP favorite Lamar Jackson. Russell Wilson's career with the Denver Broncos is practically over if he doesn't play because the team is aware they won't qualify for the playoffs.

With 984 receiving yards under his belt, Kelce might only need one reception to gain the final 16 yards needed to reach four figures for the season. On Sunday, Blaine Gabbert will start at quarterback for the Chiefs in place of Mahomes.

Since Kelce's status unknown, it is unknown if Kelce's girlfriend, Taylor Swift, will be present at the game.
