Fat Joe surprised everyone with his dramatic weight loss - or not.
The use of Ozempic in Hollywood has been trending for years, with celebrities taking the medicine for diabetes to slim down their physique. Fat Joe, while he does not use the drug, appeared in the headlines after Jada Pinkett Smith posted a mirror selfie.
Is That Fat Joe?!
Pinkett Smith surprised her fans with a new update on Instagram on Tuesday, January 2, posing in front of a mirror while wearing baggy pants and a massive winter jacket. She completed the look with huge sunglasses.
However, social media users mistook her for Fat Joe, leading the phrase "Fat Joe weight loss" to trend on X.
One said, "The fact that everyone as a collective was just nonchalantly scrolling past that picture of Jada Pinkett like "damn Fat Joe lost some more weight" and it was her the wholeeeee timeeee."
"Congrats to Fat Joe on his continued weight loss journey," one quipped.
"I legitimately thought this was Fat Joe accomplishing his 2024 weight loss goal," a third added.
Where Is Fat Joe Now?
The trend led some fans to ask where the 53-year-old rapper - born Joseph Antonio Cartagena - is now.
Currently, he has been promoting ReWind It 10, a haircare company he created with Jeff Aronson and Carolyn Aronson.
On Wednesday, January 3, he also took to Instagram to greet his mother with a happy birthday.
"My Heart, my everything I'm not afraid to say I'm a mommas boy," the Terror Squad rapper said. "I'm sooooooo blessed to have my mother with me. I pray to God everyday for having my mother and father still here with me."
Fat Joe also praised his mother for being a warrior as she beat cancer in the past.
"You dealt with all my bull s---, i worship you! have a beautiful birthday mommy I'll be right by your side," he ended his post.
In December, he told Gayle King and Charles Barkley on "King Charles" show that he had lied in almost 95 percent of his songs throughout his three decades of a career.
"I'm being honest. I write like I feel that day. I'm just being creative. You couldn't build a jail high enough for the lyrics I've said on songs which are all untrue," he explained.
