What Happened to Jeff Schroeder

The band's announcement comes a few months after their former guitarist, Jeff Schroeder, who had been a member of the group since 2007, announced that he would be parting ways with his bandmates.

In a statement shared on social media at the time, he noted that he was able to spend 16 years with his bandmates and the memories he made with them are "almost too numerous to quantify."

He admitted that it was a "very difficult" decision to make, but he already made up his mind to "explore a slightly different path."

Regardless, Schroeder will continue supporting his former bandmates, as he added: "I want to thank Billy, Jimmy, James, and Jack for being both wonderful bandmates and even better friends. I will absolutely miss sharing the stage with you. I wish the band all the success in the future. I will be watching and listening."

The Smashing Pumpkins' Response

After Schroeder's announcement, remaining band members shared a joint statement, saying words couldn't express how grateful and appreciative they were for the friend the former guitarist was and being their for the group in both good and tough times.

In other updates about the Smashing Pumpkins, this could be a good opportunity to those who wanted to send their applications as they have a series of concerts coming this year with Weezer, Green Day, Linda Lindas, and Rancid.
