Fans have been worried and confused as Britney Spears' profile on Instagram has been deleted just after declaring that she will not return to the music industry; what happened?

The musician had been chronically online over the past few months as she loves sharing random quotes, pictures, and her infamous dance videos on the social media platform.

However, in a snap, fans were shocked as her account with over 43 million followers is nowhere to be found.

"Sorry, this page isn't available," a text reads upon visiting the link to her profile.

As of this writing, it's unclear what happened to the pop star as she hasn't revealed the full details of why her account was deleted. It's also unsure if the account was hacked instead of being deactivated.

Britney Spears Slams Music Comeback Rumors

In the last post before the "Gimme More" hitmaker deleted her account, she slammed the rumors regarding her making a new album in collaboration with other musicians like Charli XCX.

As obtained by Entertainment Tonight, the singer wrote, "Just so we're clear most of the news is trash !!! They keep saying I'm turning to random people to do a new album."

The mega pop superstar also hinted at her future in the music industry, adding, "I will never return to the music industry !!! When I write, I write for fun or I write for other people !!!" the Crossroads star shared."

Later in the post, the singer claimed that she had ghostwritten over 20 songs for other people for the past two years and it's something that she enjoys doing.

"For those of you who have read my book, there's loads that you don't know about me ...I've written over 20 songs for other people the past two years !!! I'm a ghostwriter and I honestly enjoy it that way !!!" she added.

Britney Spears has remained quiet in the music industry, but she was able to release new songs such as "Hold Me Closer" with Elton John and "Mind Your Business" with will.i.am.

The last time Spears performed was in 2017, the final show of her Las Vegas Residency.

Britney Spears New Album Rumors

Prior to Spears slamming the rumors, several reports claimed that the pop star was working on her album comeback along with two talented songwriters: Charli XCX and Julia Michaels.

It was claimed by sources that the new musical project might come out this 2024.

Spears already worked with Charli XCX in the past for the album "Britney Jean" but her songs were scrapped and never made it to the final tracklist.
