What Was Adan Canto's Cause of Death?

According to reports, Canto passed away after his private battle with appendiceal cancer. It remains unknown when exactly he was diagnosed with the dreaded illness.

The National Cancer Institute defines appendiceal cancer as a type of cancer that forms in the person's appendix and grows from its cells. The diagnosis is so rare that only one or two per 1 million per year in the U.S. get affected by it.

Among the symptoms include pain, feeling bloated, nausea, feeling full after eating, mass in the abdomen and vomiting.

Canto's representative expressed their heartbreak after the recent loss as they looked back at his career and recent appearances.

"Most recently, he lit up the screen in The Cleaning Lady with a powerful performance that showcased his artistry, range, depth and vulnerability," the message continued. "This is an unfathomable loss, and we grieve alongside his wife, Stephanie, their children and loved ones. We will miss Adan dearly."

He is survived by his wife, Stephanie Ann Canto, and their two kids: Roman Alder and Eve Josephine.

Adan Canto's Career

Canto started performing as a singer when he was 7 after his family exposed him to music at an early age. He soon left home to pursue a professional career as a musician.

In the years thereafter, he successfully collaborated with other artists and became a renowned singer and songwriter in the area.

Canto eventually led the jazz band Del Canto in Mexico City while producing music and songs for TV and films.

While he started off as a musician, he found himself acting after starring in commercials and being cast in the TV series, "Estado de Gracia." He also became a stage actor through his debut performance in the adaptation of "All About My Mother."

He embraced his acting skills more and joined more shows, including "The Following," "X-Men: Days of Future Past," "Blood & Oil", and "Designated Survivor."
