Blake Shelton will make his New Year's resolution come true with the help of his wife, Gwen Stefani.
Over the past months, Shelton has been open about the changes he wants to make this 2024 especially his drinking habits. However, a source revealed that the country star also wants to shed weight - with the help of his wife.
Gwen Stefani Steps In To Help Blake Shelton
According to the insider, the "Boys 'Round Here" singer has found it hard to lose some pounds since he started his journey. Amid the issues surrounding their marriage, Stefani reportedly wants to support her husband and help him.
"Blake can get grumpy when he can't have what he wants," a source said, "[Dieting is easy for Stefani] she's always been healthy. When he wants a burger, she'll suggest a salad with grilled chicken or salmon. They'll whip up something together."
Stefani and Shelton will have more time together after the latter left his chair. The "Just a Girl" singer wrapped up her stint in December 2023.
Previously, reports said Shelton wanted to work on his drinking habits after several issues that had happened to him. In 2018, he disclosed he had been drinking before falling on stage while performing at a music festival in Oregon.
Shelton reportedly received an ultimatum from Stefani in 2017, saying she would not marry him until he stopped drinking. At that time, he lost 85 pounds and continued his no-drinking diet for months.
The pair eventually wed on July 3, 2021, at his Oklahoma ranch.
In 2015, InTouch Weekly reported that Shelton allegedly checked into rehab after his and Miranda Lambert's divorce. The media outlet claimed the male country singer was "drinking vodka before noon."
He filed a $2 million lawsuit against the tabloid for defamation and false invasion of privacy before releasing a statement to dismiss the claims.
"I do not drink excessively, binge drink, or have a drinking problem. I do not, as the Rehab Story alleges, drink vodka before 11:00 a.m. I am never drunk, intoxicated, or unable to perform my job on The Voice or elsewhere," he defended himself at that time.
Shelton also clarified that he did not start drinking at 14 when his brother died after a car accident.
