Ariana Grande 'Yes, And?' Reactions, Reviews
On Reddit's Ariheads Subreddit Thread, a fan shared his lukewarm thoughts on the new single.
"I don't hate it, but I don't love it either. It kinda sounds like something they'd play in H&M at the mall. I liked the intro and the beat drop and the chorus, but I think it sounds too much like it belongs in a musical or something. It doesn't give the bad girl Ari sound I thought we'd get," the comment said. "She's never done a sound like this before which isn't a bad thing. But it doesn't give "Ariana Grande." It's very meh."
Plenty of fans agreed on the "Yes, And?" review, agreeing that it was "underwhelming."
"i agree, i'm glad to hear someone else feels the same. as an ariana fan for so many years it physically pains me how much i... don't like it. i also am hoping the album is better, but yeah, this isn't it for me. the lyrics, the production, even her vocals... didn't like," another fan echoed.
Some people even described the song to be "boring."
"My issue is that it's boring and there's not much to it. It's just an okay song It's definitely not her worst but I definitely wouldn't put it in any category of good," one wrote.
Ariana Grande 'Yes, And' Sounds Like Mall Music?
Some fans even pointed out that Ariana Grande's "Yes, And?" sounded like a song that people would hear on retail stores or in the mall.
"I agree, I used to like Ariana but I don't like her new style of singing or her new persona/ façade. Congrats to whomever enjoys the song but It's too H&M for me," another said.
"I work for H&M and that was my very first thought while listening haha," one agreed.
One fan, even described it to be a "flop": "Yeah I don't like it either, I think the lyrics are incredibly weak and boring. Pair that with her unsavory behavior, I think overall this is a flop. It's weird to me to see people so reasonably upset one day about."
