Selena Gomez wanted to show off her new boyfriend, Benny Blanco, on the red carpet of the 2024 Emmy Awards, but security seemingly mistook the music producer as a "homeless man."
According to Daily Mail UK, Gomez and Blanco made their official couple debut at the Emmys. Still, it did not happen as they probably planned because he was escorted off the red carpet and was forced to watch the 'Lose You to Love Me" singer from the sidelines.
The video, which has now gone viral, has no audio, so netizens have no idea exactly what was the reason behind Blanco's exit from the red carpet, but it seems like he was fine with it because he was later seen blowing kisses at the "Single Soon" singer from the sidelines.
In another video, Blanco and Gomez were spotted chatting with Aubrey Plaza, and inside the venue, the couple were seated next to each other along with the singer's co-stars in "Only Murders in the Building," Martin Short and Steve Martin.
Selena Gomez, Benny Blanco Make Relationship Red Carpet Official
While this is hardly the first time Gomez has shown up at an award ceremony with her new beau, this is the first time she brought him with her to the red carpet.
"She seems to be really feeling herself at the moment," a source told People Magazine about the singer's new relationship. "Maybe that's Benny or maybe that's just where she's at personally and professionally."
Lately, Gomez has been teasing that she has a new album coming out, but also cautioned fans to not expect any more releases from her, and that the upcoming album might be her last.
According to reports, Gomez also brought Blanco for her get-together with friend Nicola Peltz.
"I'm so grateful for all the beautiful and kind people in my life, all my best friends surprised me for my birthday with a pj night and we played games (my heaven!)," the heiress wrote.
"Thank you all so much for making me feel so loved," she continued. "I love you all so much and thank you Benny for making the best food everrrr and you and Sel for hosting."
