Did Taylor Swift and Hailee Steinfeld ever got into a feud? Did their friendship sizzled out? Why are fans so excited to see them "reunite" in a playoffs game?!

Prior to the playoff game between the Buffalo Bills and the Kansas City Chiefs, Us Weekly explores the present state of Taylor Swift and Hailee Steinfeld's friendship as well as its history.

Following their 2013 encounter, Swift invited Steinfeld to join her much-discussed "squad," which landed her a role in the Grammy winner's star-studded "Bad Blood" music video in 2014. "Taylor called me ... about the video, and she was like, 'I'll send you the treatment and it'll explain it a lot better, [but] there's going to be three of you!' And I was like, 'That's going to be awesome. I have no idea what this is, but I obviously trust her and this is going to be amazing,'"

Steinfeld told USA Today in 2015, adding that Swift had given her advice in recent years. "She sets such an incredible example for everyone - let alone just me - that she's such an inspiration. I really do look up to her as an artist and as a person."

After that, Steinfeld went to a number of award shows with Swift and the other ladies in the group, such as Selena Gomez, Gigi Hadid, Cara Delevingne, Lily Aldridge, and Karlie Kloss. The "Love Myself" singer subsequently made a suggestion to Seventeen that her relationship with Swift wasn't as intimate as it seemed.

In 2016, Steinfeld remarked, "I think people think we spend a lot more time together than we actually [did]." "But she's really amazing."

Whether or whether they remained in contact, Steinfeld recently stated that she was still a fan of Swift.

The "Hawkeye" star told People in 2023, "I'm literally chasing the dates of her Eras tour trying to figure out when I can make it."

When Swift and Steinfeld's men play each other in the playoffs on Sunday, January 21, some fans are hoping for a reunion.

Swift has made it a point to attend Kansas City Chiefs games in order to see tight end Travis Kelce, while Steinfeld has maintained a low profile in order to support Josh Allen, the quarterback for the Buffalo Bills.
