After comparing The X Factor to the "Wild West" and declaring that "the whole thing needs to be changed," Sharon Osbourne has ruled out returning to the show.
The 71-year-old television personality served on the talent show's judging panel from 2004 to 2007, rejoining in 2013, 2016, and 2017. She also made an appearance on America's Got Talent from 2007 to 2012.
She has since declared, nevertheless, that she would never serve as a judge on one more because of the possible harm the shows may do to the competitors.
On Wednesday, Sharon talked about The X Factor with host Jackie Brambleson of her Greatest Hits Radio show. She began by gushing, saying, "I got to meet some incredible people-Louis [Walsh] is still like my brother, Nicole [Scherzinger], and Gary Barlow-amazing people."
'But as far as talent shows go, and I've been away from it for a while, it was kind of like the Wild West,' she went on.
'You didn't really know the importance and what it does to people's lives and as far as I'm concerned, the whole thing needs to be changed.
'As well as giving people, a lot of people, opportunities with their careers it can also damage a lot of people too. You have to be very, very careful.
'You're handling people's lives, you've got their future in your hands and it's not anything to laugh at.'
She clarified that she wouldn't want to go back, even though she acknowledged she doesn't regret it: "I wouldn't want that responsibility again; there is damage out there, and I wouldn't want to be a part of that."

"I don't regret it, I learnt a lot about the responsibility of doing a show like that, and it was a great education.'
On The X Factor, competitors competed to showcase their musical abilities in order to win a recording deal.
But a major component of the show-which caused controversy right away-was that it was exploitative, pushing contestants to try out just to have them mercilessly dissed by the judges.
Her comments currently are not that shocking because just last year, she has been criticizing talent shows like America's Got Talent and The X Factor for being "dated," Sharon has again made comments.
Sharon had originally been announced to return for series 15, but in October 2018, she made the decision to step down from the X Factor judging panel.
