Taylor Swift Branded 'Down to Earth' by Patrick Mahomes' Dad Amid Criticism

Patrick Mahomes' father, Patrick "Pat" Mahomes Sr., could not stop praising Taylor Swift amid the songstress' romance with the Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

In a recent interview with Starcade Media, Pat shared his thoughts about Swift after the interview er asked him about the "Lover" singer's relationship with his son's teammate. He became the latest Chiefs family to gush about Swift despite the recent criticisms about the singer.

Pat, who appeared in the Netflix documentary series "Quarterbacks," applauded Swift for being down to Earth.

"I actually walked up and introduced myself to her, and she said she knew who I was because she had watched the Quarterback series," he shared. "Every time I've hung out with her, she just acts like a normal person."

Swift told TIME in December that she and Kelce started dating long before she appeared in a Kansas City Chiefs game. From there, she made notable appearances in the League to support her beau.

Pat's comment seemingly resonated with what Jason Avant, one of Kelce's former teammates, said in an interview about how the other players in the locker room may have reacted to the attention the tight end and his muse have been getting.

"I don't think the players are ever bothered by the media attention," he said. "The players are used to it. There are so many cameras that are following the guys. I just don't think that the NFL fan in general outside of the Chiefs locker room was ready for the storm of Taylor Swift."

Even Kelce's family members love Swift so much.

When Travis' mother, Donna Kelce, dealt with negativity surrounding her son's relationship and her interactions with Swift, she referenced the singer's song "Shake It Off" to say, "I think probably 'Shake It Off.' We're getting a lot of that lately, about haters."

A separate insider told Daily Mail that Donna loves to see her kids happy as she wants the best for them.

"As the last several weeks have gone on with all that is happening with Taylor and her son, she thinks that Taylor is as lovely of a person as one could be," the source continued. "She wants Travis to be happy, and Taylor has been such an amazing person to Donna and they both have a genuine affection for each other."
