After being accused of "queerbaiting," South Korean singer-songwriter IU changed the title of her new song from "Love Wins" to "Love Wins All."

Back in January 15, IU made the announcement that their new song, "Love Wins," would be released very soon. Um Tae-hwa, the director of Concrete Utopia, has confirmed that V from BTS will be in the music video for "Love Wins," according to an IU follow-up post that has since been removed.

The song will now be called "Love Wins All," according to her agency EDAM Entertainment, which made the announcement on January 19. This change was made to "respect and support everyone who loves in their various ways."

"We accept the opinions of those who express concerns that precious messages might be blurred due to the title," the company added.

"If there is one single thing that is exactly opposite to the message [of the song] would be the word 'hatred'." We deeply hope that the original message of the song is delivered without leaving any scars on anyone, as every love wins all in the world with no hatred."

The Korea Times said that IU had received criticism for supposedly "queerbaiting" with the song's original title, "Love Wins," prompting the decision to retitle it to "Love Wins All."

In 2015, the US Supreme Court issued a landmark decision guaranteeing same-sex couples the fundamental right to marry, sparking widespread use of the slogan "love wins."

The singer announced in December that she was in the process of recording a new album, which will be out in early 2024. Her management company, EDAM Entertainment, also verified at the time that she had recorded a music video with V from BTS for a future release. IU's 2021 mini-album "Pieces," which included a number of previously unheard songs that she had written and composed herself, was her most recent solo release. She also released "Lilac," her fifth full-length studio album, in the same year.

The singer has recently collaborated on several projects; the most recent one was with BTS rapper Suga on "People Pt. 2" in April 2023. The song served as the lead single for his later-that-month solo studio album, "D-Day." Valentino's most recent menswear campaign for its 2024 S/S collection, Valentino The Narratives, features BTS member Suga.
