More details about Luis Vasquez's death emerged days after the confirmation of his passing.

A representative for Vasquez delivered the heartbreaking news to different news outlets, including USA Today and Pitchfork, as his manager, Marco Rapisarda, shared a statement on The Soft Moon's social media account. He asked everyone to respect the family and friends' privacy amid the difficult time.

"If you have a memory of Luis, no matter if you were a close friend of his or not, please feel free to share," the post continued. "This is a huge loss and our hearts are broken."

What Was Luis Vasquez's Cause of Death?

A few days after the post was shared, sources told The Los Angeles Times that Vasquez was among the three people who were found dead in a Los Angeles loft following a suspected fentanyl overdose.

Per the report, via the New York Post, the 44-year-old The Soft Moon musician, born Jose Vasquez, died on Thursday along with DJ John "Juan" Mendez and the latter's wife, Simone Ling. A welfare check was done in the area and discovered their bodies.

A probe has since been launched into the incident, which is reportedly being investigated as a possible fentanyl overdose since paraphernalia were found in the DJ's loft.

Vasquez's colleagues, fans and friends paid tribute to him online while processing the recent loss.

Twin Tribes' official page wrote, "We were deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Luis Vasquez @thesoftmoon this morning. He was a brilliant musician, a stalwart of our scene and its landscape will be forever changed in his absence. Luis, our thoughts are with you, those you loved, and those who loved you."

"I wanted to share some live footage that I captured of The Soft Moon live at @LeGuessWho festival 2017. The strobes, the light, the energy in that room was incredible. RIP Luis Vasquez," another wrote.

"I can't believe Luis Vasquez is no longer with us," a third added. "His work put a new milestone in the history of music, and his honest expression inspired a generation of people. We have only exchanged a couple of emails and I will always be grateful that he supported my art."

Vasquez notably launched Soft Moon as a home-recording project before making it a post-punk/darkwave project. It toured the world with other famous acts like Depeche Mode, Mogwai and Interpol.

During its active career years, it managed to release five albums. It then marked one of its last appearances at the Cruel World Festival in Pasadena.
