Travis Kelce, Taylor Swift Defend Decision Not to be Engaged Yet, Waiting for the Superbowl?

The kiss between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce back in New Year's Eve might actually mean more than Swifties think.

Pictures of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce sharing a midnight kiss in Kansas City had fans drooling, but little did they realize that the couple was making a commitment to live out the rest of their lives together in addition to ringing in the new year.

Last week, the anonymous author of the Deux Moi podcast revealed what she claimed to be a covert "engagement," saying that she had been informed by a reliable source that "Taylor and Travis got engaged on December 31."

Before the gathering where they were photographed, it was just the two of them. However, the devoted couple isn't quite ready to go public just yet.

The 34-year-old Swift and the 34-year-old Kelce simply have too much on their plates in the upcoming months to make it official or go public.

The hosts continued their conversation, saying that with the playoffs still to come and Swift's ongoing tour, it was "too soon" for them to commit in public.

Deux Moi explained, "They don't want to overshadow that. It's too soon."

However rational this choice may have been, Kelce had little trouble expressing his affections for Swift to a large audience during Sunday's thrilling victory over the Buffalo Bills.

He warmed the hearts of millions with a beautiful performance meant especially for Swift as the field's temperatures plummeted. He once sent a kiss up to the VIP box, where his family and she were supporting him.

Another time, following one of his two touchdowns in the game of his life, he turned to face Swift, who leaped with delight, made a heart shape with his hands, and sent it directly to her. It was an open admission, as obvious as day, that although his mind was on the game, Swift was always at the center of his heart.

For her part, Swift has started to practically wearing her heart on her sleeve, amassing an ever-growing collection of hats, blouses, and coats that feature her boyfriend's name and number 87.

She supported the Chiefs on Sunday, joining supermodel and actress friend Cara Delevingne, her new best friend Brittany Mahomes, 28, and her purported sister-in-law Kylie Kelce, 31, whom she was meeting for the first time along with Kelce's brother Jason. She wore her red hat and cream jacket as usual.

Unflinching in his advances, 36-year-old Jason stripped down to his waist, bashed Budweisers, and bellowed into the darkness and the audience as his younger brother and squad easily defeated them 27-24 in a hard-fought contest to stay in the running for the Super Bowl.
