Singer Teyana Taylor has confirmed that she will play Dionne Warwick in the upcoming biopic of the singer and actress.
Warwick has allegedly chosen Taylor for the role following years of comparing the singer's uncanny resemblance with her. Taylor took to Instagram to announce the news after posting a side by side photo of her and Warwick.
Taylor explained how in Warwick she sees a future version of herself.In a heartfelt caption she wrote, "Ms. Dionne Warwick... A woman of great statue, poise and elegance, with a fiery spirit - Realizing I was looking at my future self. My reflection without a mirror."
Taylor goes on to explain what Warwick has taught her so far in this journey about learning from a multi-talented legend. "Being able to learn and study from one of the greats like, @therealdionnew has allowed me to learn a lot about myself and the woman I am today. She has taught us to be proud of who you are.... -Don't Make Me Over. ️"
Taylor commended Warwick in her caption. She wrote, "@therealdionnew Your music and social involvement has enhanced the culture. Your soul and artistry serves as an example of not only resilience and strength, but of faith and purpose."
This movie, while the release date has not been announced, has the potential to be one of the most seen movies for the year. Although it was only announced today, fans are already anticipating this film will be what gets Taylor an award for her acting and singing skill.
