Sam Asghari, the ex-boyfriend of Britney Spears, seems to be enjoying his best life since their breakup. But their divorce is yet to be finalized, allegedly because he wants more from his ex-wife, and the star refuses to budge.

He posed for pictures on the red carpet at the Young Hollywood & the Breakout Stars of 2023 event in Los Angeles on January 8, and the US Sun revealed three days later that he had named-dropped Spears in order to get a picture with Brad Pitt at a Beverly Hills gallery exhibition.

The singer of "Toxic" isn't exactly happy that Asghari is still utilizing their relationship to get invites to business gatherings and mingle with the rich and famous in Hollywood.

According to the insider, she finds it kind of pathetic and feels like Sam is using the "Mr. Britney Spears" card.

Spears, 42, has been particularly affected because she and Asghari are presently at odds over the specifics of their divorce. After being married for 14 months, the former trainer, 29, filed for divorce in August 2023. Before being married in June 2022, Asghari and Spears signed a legally binding prenuptial agreement, as Us previously revealed. However, sources now assert that Asghari is seeking more money.

One source refers to Sam's feelings that he should receive just compensation for all that he endured with Britney, citing the unpredictable behavior and mood swings Asghari saw during their marriage to the pop singer. Although the precise amount he desires is being withheld, he is unhappy with what Britney and her staff have suggested.

"Sam is going for everything under the sun," from a second source. Spears's representatives choose not to respond to inquiries about the divorce. A request for response from an Asghari representative was not answered.

According to their prenuptial agreement, Asghari would receive $1 million for each two years of Spears' marriage, subject to him signing an NDA and giving up his rights to the Grammy winner's discography, a source told Us in July 2022. However, the initial source claims that the settlement is "stuck in limbo."

There is a great deal of back and forth arguing. More has happened than either of them had anticipated in terms of complexity. After their breakup, Spears was said to have been covering Asghari's high-end apartment rent; however, a third source informs Us that this is no longer the case.

"Britney is in no mood to be pushed around or rushed into signing over another huge check to Sam," says the first source, noting that the star is now stubbornly sticking to her ultimatums.

"She wants to stick to the letter of the paperwork and feels that's all he's entitled to, period."
