After countless Kellyoke covers on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Kelly Clarkson has once again proved that no matter how new the song was, she can learn it and smash it right out of the park.

No wonder why people on the Internet have hailed Kelly Clarkson as the "Queen of Covers. She can just sing any song and give it her own style and spin.

Kelly Clarkson Covers Olivia Rodrigo's 'Can't Catch Me Now'

Olivia Rodrigo received significant attention in 2023 when she released "Can't Catch Me Now," an eerily fitting song for  The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes' box-office success.

Rodrigo, a confessed fan of The Hunger Games franchise, poured her songwriting prowess into crafting the song. In the final output, fans praised Rodrigo for capturing the feeling of the movie's ending very well.

Clarkson, known for acing every song she covered on Kellyoke, gave her spin on the song, and fans couldn't be more thrilled with her breathtaking cover.

"Her ability to create layers with her voice is truly amazing," a fan pointed out on Clarkson's voice.

While others proclaim that Rodrigo's young voice perfectly fit the song, some said that Clarkson's gave it another dimension.

"One of Olivia's best written songs. Kelly's voice gives the song a new flavor. I love it," another shared.

"OMG Kelly needs to record a whole soundtrack for an epic movie," one suggested.

"The song that should have won the Oscar," a user pointed out.

Olivia Rodrigo 'Can't Catch Me Now' Oscar Shortlist

Rodrigo's "Can't Catch Me Now" was shortlisted for the Academy Award for Best Original Song. However, she did not make the cut when the official nominees were released.

"From the very beginning of this franchise, we have been fortunate to attract some of the world's most talented recording artists, whose music has accentuated and complemented the drama of the films while underscoring the emotional weight carried by the characters," Hunger Games director Francis Lawrence said in a statement.

Nevertheless, the song earned a Hollywood Music in Media Award for Best Original Song in a Sci-Fi, Fantasy, or Horror Film at its 2023 ceremony.

It was hailed as the Outstanding Original Song for a Dramatic or Documentary Visual Media Production at the 2023 Society of Composers and Lyricists Awards.
