Luke Bryan is here to clear the air on why he is constantly falling on stage. While making an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Bryan answered Kimmel's question as to why he's making so many onstage slip ups.

The American Idol judge acknowledged that his fans think he's intoxicated, "You check the comments on the fans talking about the fall and there's nine out of ten comments that point to me being drunk."

"As they say it's not a Luke Bryan show if he doesn't fall on stage. He slipped on beer on the last show I went to...his beer at that," wrote one commenter on a TikTok of the star slipping and falling.

The video's caption reads "Luke Bryan bails on stage than [sic] finishes an amazing show!" In the clip, Bryan is jamming along, but just as he brings the microphone to his lips, he takes a tumble. The country star slipped and fell onto his back, but showed that he was fine by raising two triumphant arms in the air. He then picked up a cell phone, which was thrown by a fan.

"You seem to be falling down a lot...it's happening often," said Kimmel before showing a montage of clips of Bryan falling on stage. He focused on one particular "perfect comedy fall" that happened during a performance in Vancouver.

Bryan clarified that his persistent falls aren't because of drinking, but because of his height, stature and dance moves.

"I'm 6'2. I'm up there trying to do Michael Jackson moves in too big of a frame, and when you add water to a stage and slick cowboy boots you go down hard," he said. At the Vancouver show, a fan reportedly spilled water on the stage, contributing to Bryan's slip.

As for his "Michael Jackson moves," Bryan has long cited that Jackson is an influence of his. In a 2015 interview, he recalled that he "used to moonwalk to the pencil sharpener in third grade."

"It's not alcohol, fans. You just can't drink a bottle of vodka and go do a two hour show," continued Bryan.

"I'm real active on stage," he said. He further clarified that the content of some of his alcohol-focused songs ("Drink a Beer," "One Margarita," and "Take My Drunk Ass Home," to name a few) does not translate to his actual behavior.

Just because he sings about drinking, "doesn't mean that I spend my whole life [drinking] while working."

"Somehow I've dodged injury," said Bryan as he detailed a time when he took several tumbles.

"There was about four in North Carolina...so people thought I was drinking moonshine."

Kimmel joked about being drunk himself before saying that, if Bryan falls again, he will make the singer wear a padded football helmet.
