What a great day for alternative music fans! In a rare and surprising occurrence, Lorde and Caroline Polachek join forces together for a shocking performance and many fans are wondering if they're cooking something up for future releases; watch their performance below.

According to Uproxx, Lorde took the stage of the Sziget Festival 2023 in Northern Budapest in Hungary. During a surprise set, many were shocked as Caroline Polacheck joined her on stage to sing her song "Green Light" from her 2017 album "Melodrama."

Several videos of the pair's performance circulated all over social media, which led fans to think if there would be a collaboration between the two in the future.

Lorde also took to her official Instagram account to share photos of herself and teased about a potential new era of music.

"After the show we went swimming.. these times are beautiful and they freak me out and there's so much to tell you," she wrote.

The New Zealand artist later clarified that her performance was "not the start of anything out there," as she just wanted her fans to know that there's "a light on inside me," and she's ready to share it with the world soon.

Fans Hope Lorde, Caroline Polachek Collaborate

The comment section was later filled with fans requesting the two alternative musicians to release a collaboration together.

"'this is not the start of anything' me when i lie," one joked.

"NO F****** WAY, ITS ACTUALLY HAPPENING," another one wrote.

One fan took to X (formerly known as Twitter) and wrote, "Never gonna shut up about this caroline x lorde interaction until they release an actual collab.. get in the studio!"

"caroline polachek and lorde sang together?!! we need a collab asap!!!" another one posted.

As of this writing, neither of the two artists has confirmed whether they're going to release new music soon or not.

Lorde New Album Coming Soon?

Aside from her performance at the Sziget Festival, the musician also performed at Boardmasters Festival on August 11 where she debuted two new unreleased songs.

Fan-captured videos immediately circulated online and many fans assume that Lorde will be coming out with new music anytime soon.

If ever Lorde drops a new record, it would be the follow-up to her 2021 record "Solar Power" which featured some of her popular hits like "Secrets From A Girl (Who's Seen It All)," "California," "The Path," "Mood Ring," and more.
