Last night kicked off NBA All-Star Weekend with the NBA Celebrity All-Star Game at Madison Square Garden, marking the first time it has ever been played in an NBA arena. The evening began with a tribute to the late ESPN anchor Stuart Scott, who passed away last month at the age of 49. The NBA Celebrity All-Star Game was one of his favorite events to cover, so they honored him by presenting his two daughters with a basketball signed with personal messages from the players. -

Today (Oct. 24), Meloy surprised city-dwelling Decemberists fans and those who just happened to get off the Bedford Ave. subway stop in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, by debuting three new songs and announcing a new album What A Terrible World, What A Beautiful World for Jan. 20, 2015. -
Little Kids Rock Benefit NYC 2014: Joan Jett, Alice Cooper, Cheap Trick, Billie Joe Armstrong And More Raise Money For Music Education [PHOTO SLIDESHOW]
Little Kids Rock put on its sixth annual benefit concert last night (Oct. 24) at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom. The show raised around $1.5 million for the organization, which helps keep music programs alive in disadvantaged schools. The evening paid tribute to Joan Jett, the recipient of their Rocker of the Year Award. -

Day one of LouFest 2014 brought 17,000 fans — a single-day record for the festival — to Central Field in Forest Park. The day started off with light rain but the sun came out before too long, giving concertgoers ideal festival weather.
