• Ranking Polaris Prize Shortlist: Drake, New Pornographers and...Ghostface Killah?

    The Polaris Music Prize has announced its annual shortlist of ten albums up for Canada's biggest music prize, and this year's gathering includes new icons Drake, old favorites the New Pornographers and, uh, Ghostface Killah?     After unveiling its long list last month, today (July 16) the 10 finalists for the 2015 Polaris Prize have been revealed. Celebrating the best in Canadian music on artistic merit along, this year's list is just as eclectic as one could have expected, with everyone from Drake to The New Pornographers to Alvvays and Tobias Jesso Jr. getting nominations.

  • Neko Case Announces North American Tour Dates

    The New Pornographers singer and solo act Neko Case will hit the road in April for a short North American tour that kicks off at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley with Alabama Shakes. Following a gig in St. Paul April 25, Case will join the 'Brill Bruisers' band for a few dates before going solo again in June. She will wrap up the trek June 20 at the Clearwater Festival in New York, 'Consequence of Sound' noted.

  • The New Pornographers Add Tour Dates

    The New Pornographers added dates to their 2015 touring schedule recently. The band will play a handful of dates this summer in support of Brill Bruisers, their sixth studio effort. They'll stop by the Sasquatch! Music Festival in Quincy, Washington, on May 22 to kick off the tour, wrapping it up in July at the Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago.

  • Neko Case Announces North American Tour, Reissue of 'Fox Confessor Brings The Flood' [FULL SCHEDULE]

    Alt-country singer-songwriter and New Pornographers member Neko Case has announced a reissue of her 2006 album Fox Confessor Brings The Flood for Record Store Day 2015, which falls on April 18 this year. According to Pitchfork, the album will be released through Anti- Records on limited edition red vinyl. In support of the reissue, Case has announced a brief run of North American tour dates for April, which will kick off on April 12 in Bend, Oregon, and take Case mostly around her native Northwest before finishing up in St. Paul, Minnesota on April 25.

    The latest festival to announce its 2015 line-up is Primavera Sound, which is celebrating its 15th year. The line-up was originally announced through an app called Line-App, but if you don't feel like downloading that, you can just watch the video announcement below. As can be expected from Primavera Sound, this year's lineup is absolutely killer. Among the most notable acts performing this year are Alt-J, The Black Keys, Belle & Sebastian, The Strokes, Run The Jewels, Interpol, Sun Kil Moon, Spiritualized, Mac DeMarco, Patti Smith, Panda Bear, The New Pornographers, Caribou, Ariel Pink, Tyler, The Creator, Swans, Brand New, Twin Shadow, and many, many more.
