The Busted member James Bourne opened up about his terrifying hospitalization after being bitten by a black widow spider.

The musician shared his experience and spread awareness by posting Instagram photos of the black widow spider and a snap showing its bite. He assured the fans he had recovered from it.

What Happened to James Bourne?

Bourne - who sings in the pop-punk band alongside Matt Willis and Charlie Simpson - detailed what happened in the caption.

"I did not know how serious my condition was until I was refused an IV drip at my local Next health because I was suffering hypertension with a blood pressure reading of 190 / 115 mmHg," he disclosed. "Apparently that's quite serious . I ended up at the hospital later that night! Anyway, im still here, Alive and kicking! Cool story bro..."

According to studies, a bite from a female black widow spider releases a toxic venom that targets a person's nerve endings, triggering muscle aches and pains. Patients need to seek medical care immediately to prevent the symptoms from worsening.

Meanwhile, his fans shared their experiences with the spider while expressing how relieved they were that he was okay.

One said, "Black widow is no joke very serious bro the females leave a gnarly bite. glad you're okay and are telling the story wishing u a speedy spidey recovery."

"Thank goodness that you made a full recovery and hope you'll continue to make good progress," another wrote, while a third said, "Can you shoot webs now? but in all seriousness glad your alright bud!"

Musician Died From a Spider Bite

In November, Brazilian singer Darlyn Morais died at the age of 28 after he was hospitalized for a spider bite. His wife, Jhullyenny Lisboa, told Brazilian news outlet G1 that the singer died from complications caused by the bite. He reportedly crooner fell ill and developed a reaction after he was bitten by the spider while at his Miranorte home on October 31.

His stepdaughter, 18, also sustained a spider bite and stayed in a medical facility to receive treatment for days.

Morais suffered from body fatigue following the bite on his face. The bruise that developed afterward also changed in color.

He then suffered from an allergic reaction in the days thereafter, prompting them to finally visit the Palmas General Hospital in Miranorte. He was discharged on Friday, November 3, days before he succumbed.
