Jeremy Renner claimed that getting struck by a snowplow last year had a profound impact on him. After the near-fatal accident and the protracted recuperation process, the 53-year-old singer-actor claimed he has softened and feels more "sensitive and youthful."
"I certainly got a lot of callousness squashed out of me by that machine," he stated in a People interview that was released on Saturday.
He clarified, saying, "I've never been bitter but always maybe a little more callous, a little bit more tough" "And I just think those calluses are just scraped off me at this point. Literally, I feel pretty open and wonderfully sensitive and youthful. I've been blessed."
The former Hawkeye needed numerous procedures and more than two weeks in the hospital to recover from his injuries back in January 2023.
On New Year's Day, he was struck by a huge 14,000-pound snowplow close to his residence in Reno, Nevada, near Lake Tahoe, breaking over thirty bones.

In addition, he suffered injuries that caused his lung to collapse and a broken rib to puncture his liver. The Hawkeye alumnus returned on the red carpet a few months later, this time with his 10-year-old daughter Ava, whom he described as "reason number one" for his recovery.
"'Everything kind of just went right," he said. "Obviously I had a lot of tenacity, I had a lot of support and a lot of reason to recover." "That is really special," he added.
"There's a lot of people that don't have as much - those things to live for."
He continued by saying that other people's motivation helped him on his path to recovery. "It wasn't about me getting better," he clarified. "It was about healing them. That's how I got out of my own way." Regarding "the love and support I got from people," he remarked, "I just didn't realize that many people gave a crap about me that much. Maybe Hawkeye, they did, [but] just me as a person, it's a different thing, you know what I mean?"
While many are well aware of Renner as an actor, he also had a stint in music. In fact, he once said he loves doing music more than acting.
In a post on Instagram last year, Renner revealed he is working on new music. According to Billboard, Renner and Sam Feldt worked together on the song "Heaven (Don't Have A Name)" in 2018. In 2019, he put out three original songs as part of a Jeep advertising campaign. He released his seven-track debut EP, "The Medicine," the following year. Later that year, he released seven more tunes on his second EP, "Live for Now."
