Lenny Kravitz said that he still had "love" for his ex-wife Lisa Bonet, even though they divorced for 30 years all over. He's not merely paying her lip service though - his feelings seem genuine and that's quite heartbreaking.
In a recent interview that was published on Friday with People, he said, "It took time, believe me, but she is a part of my life that will never leave my heart, my soul or my spirit."
The artist went on to say that their time together shaped a big part of his personality today.
After he started dating the actress in the middle of the 1980s, the 59-year-old actor shot to fame.
Their high-profile relationship lasted for almost ten years before they called it quits. The hitmaker, who previously revealed his wish to be married, has subsequently said that he was thankful for the time he spent with his ex-spouse even though dealing through their breakup was challenging.
The Grammy Award-winning musician said that his relationship with 56-year-old Bonet ended because of emotional struggles, but he and his ex-wife remained close after their divorce.
"The love doesn't leave you, but it has to find a new way to funnel itself into a new life, We consciously wanted to do that," he stated.
Then, Kravitz spoke warmly of the time following the 1988 birth of their 35-year-old daughter Zoe by him and the Primetime Emmy Award-nominated actress. "We were quite the family. We had our own groove, expression, fashion. It was a beautiful time. The world Zoe's mom and I were creating, our family, it was about peace, love and spirit," he recalled.
While acknowledging that he was perceived as a sex symbol when he was dating Bonet, the singer insisted that he was preoccupied with their relationship and unconcerned with that part of his public persona. 'I wasn't thinking, "Oh, this is sexy."
TT"I was just living and doing. I was married to the most beautiful woman on the planet, incredible inside and out, and I wasn't paying attention to that," he said.
On Bonet's twentieth birthday in 1987, Kravitz and her went on an erotic marriage that lasted until their peaceful divorce in 1993.
The singer then started dating Vanessa Paradis, a singer and model, and the two of them were together until 1996. After that, he became engaged to Nicole Kidman and Adriana Lima, but none of those relationships ended in marriage.
With Jason Momoa, whom she started seeing in 2005 and wed in 2017, Bonet moved on. In 2007 and 2008, respectively, the performers welcomed a son named Nakoa-Wolf, 15, and a daughter named Lola, 16. After separating in 2020, the couple's divorce was finally completed this past month.
