Comedian/actress Tiffany Haddish appeared on the Howard Stern Show on Wednesday (June 5) to promote her new memoir I Curse You With Joy, but she also spent some time talking about her fledging music career and desire to break Lenny Kravitz's celibacy and hope to hire him as an interior decorator.
Towards the end of the nearly two-hour interview, Stern brought up Kravitz's recent claim that he's been celibate for nine years. Haddish revealed that she too has been going through a few months of celibacy but would be willing to break it for the "It Ain't Over 'Til It's Over" singer.
"I'm trying to decide, do I call him and ask him about this? Because this might be a match made in heaven," she said.
Stern asked how she knew Kravitz and Haddish revealed the two recently got into a conversation about interior design at Selma Hayek's house. "He was talking about how he did the set decoration for Queen Latifah's talk show. And I was like, 'What? 'You do decorating?'"
Haddish explained she's looking for someone to decorate some of the duplexes and houses she owns in Los Angeles that she opens up to foster youths. Kravitz volunteered to help and gave Haddish his phone number.
Stern, of course, swung the conversation back to sex. "Can you imagine if you hook up with Lenny Kravitz?"
"The ancestors would appreciate it I'm sure," Haddish responded. "All my Black and Jewish ancestors."
"Yeah, he's Jewish, too and the dude's got an eight-pack. He's always got his shirt off," Stern added.
"Yeah, I need to get on his diet plan," Haddish responded. "I want that. My goal is to get abs. I got an ab. I got to suck my uterus in every day."
Before Stern bid Haddish a farewell, he previewed her new song, "Woman Up," that's featured at the end of the audiobook version of her memoir and is set for a forthcoming release. Haddish co-wrote the song with acclaimed songwriter Diane Warren.
"She's a heavyweight," Stern said.
"Did you say, 'Heavy white or heavyweight?" Haddish joked.
"A heavyweight, but also a heavy white," Stern responded.
The song previewed is a catchy dance-pop tune called "Woman Up."
"Hey Tiffany, what if this is a hit song?" Stern asked.
"I would be very happy," she said. "I'd go on tour and do music. I have like 13 other songs. I've been making music for the last four years just to get the songs in movies and TV shows that I do, but I would love to go on tour."
As the song finished playing, Stern's co-host Robin Quivers piped in. "I like that 'Woman Up!"
"Right?" Haddish responded. "Everyone is always saying, 'Man up! Man up!' Nah, woman up! Woman up! Put your maxi pad on and let's go. We got things to do!"
