Beyonce is a celebrity among celebrities, and it is no surprise how not many people can just walk up to her and strike up a conversation--SZA was unable to do so during the Grammys.
"I was scared to go over to Beyoncé," the "Snooze" hitmaker confessed to E! News. "I can't speak unless she wants to speak, in my brain, because I don't want to bother her. She looked so peaceful and beautiful."
So instead of introducing herself to the "Halo" singer, SZA decided that standing and admiring from afar was better, and she made sure not to "bother" Beyonce.
"I just admire her. She's a masterclass on poise, grace, artistry, beauty, and kindness."
SZA earned three golden gramophone trophies at the 2024 Grammy Awards: Best R&B Song, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, and Best Urban Contemporary Album.
SZA Meets Jay-Z
While SZA was unable to talk to Beyonce, she did reveal that she managed to hold a conversation with the singer's husband, Jay-Z.
"Jay-Z did speak to me," the singer added. "I was so grateful. Those are literally my favorite people, and it's so crazy that I be seeing them in real life."
According to reports, the rapper earned a Dr. Dre Global Impact Award at the Grammys over the weekend.
"JAY-Z means the world to me. I'm a JAY-Z stan so bad."
Perhaps the word of SZA regretting that she was not able to talk to Beyonce reached the "Girls" singer because she received a bouquet of roses from Beyonce.
SZA Receives Congratulatory Flowers From Beyonce
The "Kill Bill" singer excitedly shared a picture of Beyonce's congratulatory gift dedicated to her.
"I'm so happy for you, beautiful! Watching you grow and watching you win is an honor," the note read. "Sending you a huge congrats, talented queen. All my love and respect, B."
SZA responded to Beyonce's note on her Instagram Story: "Thank you for seeing me before anyone else saw me. Thank you for making me feel valuable when I was the tiniest in the room.
"Thank you for shining your light on me and pouring into me with Goddess-level kindness. May God continue to protect and bless you, queen."
Netizens flocked over to congratulate SZA for receiving a letter from Beyonce: "This year and last year's TRUE album of the year winners!"
"Mothers, love them so much! Both deserved AOTY wins!"
