Colorado Ballet musician Kresten Wolff Thomsen and his two kids were involved in a four-car crash that ultimately killed the patriarch, police confirmed.
Multiple media outlets cited police sources after the 44-year-old man killed in the fatal car crash had been identified. The accident, which occurred on Monday near North Lamar Street and West 64th Avenue, listed Kresten as a casualty.

CBS News said Kresten was driving his car while his two kids were with him when a drunk driver, identified as 23-year-old Juan Ortega Torres Jr., beat the red light and crashed into Kresten's car, throwing it into the side of a residential property.
Elyse Massey, a registered nurse who works with Kresten's wife, Alicia, at North Suburban Medical Center, created a GoFundMe page to help the family after the February 5 accident.
She revealed that Kresten picked up their daughters - ages 10 and 7 - from school when the accident happened. Both children survived the crash but were sent to the pediatric ICU in Denver, Colo.
"This is a truly unfathomable tragedy. Kresten was a very talented musician who worked with the Denver ballet. Her two children love art and nature and just enjoy being children," she continued. "This family has been completely shattered and will now face unimaginable hardship."
With the GoFundMe donations, Massey aims to help Alicia, who is now the sole provider for the family. The matriarch reportedly decided to step away from her work as a nurse to care for her children and process the loss of her husband.

As of press time, the GoFundMe page has received $71,426 from 943 donors. They also left messages on the Words of Support tab to show their love and express their grief after the tragedy.
One said, "Kresten's music will always echo through our studios here at Colorado Ballet. We will miss him dearly."
"I work at Colorado Ballet and Kresten was one of the most happy, kind, and bright people to ever walk through these doors during my time here. Sending love and support to his family during this difficult time," another wrote.
"Mr. Wolff played piano accompaniment during my ballet classes for around half a semester. Even after he stopped working at the academy, Mr. Wolff would always say hello and smile whenever I ran into him," a third shared.
The latter GoFundMe donor continued, "I just saw him three weeks ago at a ballet competition and now he's gone and I can't believe that. "He was an incredible pianist and musician and such a kind and gracious soul. Sending love and prayers to Alicia Wolff and their children RIP Maestro."
